E.S. Wagner Company served as the prime contractor on this project for CSX Transportation. The project consisted of expanding the Walbridge Rail Yard located in Wood County, Ohio to accommodate additional rail traffic due to the proposed closing of the Stanley Yard. This project involved clearing, grading, drainage, ditching, bridge construction, fencing, yard lighting, retaining wall, crash wall, asphalt paving, sub-ballast, ballast and rail construction. The major work involved 66,000 cubic yards of grading, 84,000 tons of granular embankment, 2900 square yards of retaining wall, a single span dual track bridge, 50,000 tons of sub-ballast, 19,000 tons of ballast and associated track work. All personnel assigned to the project received On Track Safety Training prior to reporting to the jobsite. The project, adhering strictly to CSX Transportations and E.S. Wagners commitment to safety, commenced work in June of 2003 and completed on schedule, August of 2004.
