In December 2006, E.S. Wagner Company was awarded the contract to prepare a 40 acre site for a new middle school in south Greenville County. E. S. Wagner worked as the site/grading contractor for P. C. Construction who was responsible for completing the entire project by May 2008 so that the school could be used for the 2008/2009 school year.
E.S. Wagners work included clearing, grubbing and disposing of waste site; 260,000 CY of site excavation to embankment; 29,000 CY of mass rock excavation; 1,000 CY of trench rock excavation; grading for all site roadways, building pads, ball fields and track; installation of 6,700 LF of storm drainage with associated structures; installation of 2,700 LF of roof drains; construction of 2,100 SF block wall and installation and maintenance of both temporary and permanent erosion control measures. By contract, site grading for the building pad was to be complete within four months so that the building construction could begin. E.S. Wagner began work in January 2007 and completed over 85% of the site package work by April. This allowed the building contractor to start on time. By the end of May 2007, 95% of the site work was complete and E.S. Wagner left the site until the building construction schedule dictated the need to return and finish. All project work was complete by the end of May 2008 which allowed for the successful opening of the new school for the 2008/2009 school year.
E. S. Wagner was recognized by Greenville County stating that the reliability and resourcefulness of E.S. Wagner has been beyond what we have experienced before for the work on our most difficult site to date.
